Stay Organized

I came across this article that provides a great idea for staying organized with multiple sketchbooks. I'm going to give it a try. How about you?!

Thanks for being so well behaved and patient during our Skype!

As your reward, I'll push back the deadline for the "order" assignment to Monday at 8:00am. Your gallery visit is also due Monday so make sure you plan your time accordingly.

Happy artmaking!

Altered Book Inspiration

Laurel recently had a new post about an altered book process she loves. I'm passing it along because I think it will help you in your artmaking journey.

Will Ashford has amazingly intriguing artwork. You can get lost in it for hours.
It's a great website with a new concept for an altered book/ journal page.
I challenge you to make your own!

Journals due

I'm so proud of yall for finding something to do yesterday with the sub. You guys are the BEST!

This is just a friendly reminder (again) about the 3 page journal spread due Monday.

Then on Thursday we are going to Skype with Laurel from Cranberry Cloud. She's working on some fabulous techniques to show you. I'll let it be a surprise!

Homework Tonight

Didn't his presentation make you want to attend KCAI?! I'm jealous!

Come to class Wednesday with 6 composition sketches for your self portrait. 4x6 pencil sketches of different compositions. Then we'll pick one and I'll have you break it up into three values to plan for your print.
We have another university coming to present tomorrow, so I'll grade those while the presentation's going on. They'll be ready for you to take home by the end of the period.

By Friday I want you to turn in your concept and plan for your outside (haunting piece). So that means a written idea of what your concept is and a sketch (or a few) in your sketchbook of what you plan to do.

(Oh I graded that homework. Sorry I forgot to pass them back. If you turned it in, you got a 100.)

Weekend Homework

Your next outside piece is to focus on the word "haunting" while using rhythm, contrast & emphasis.

This weekend you are to research the word "haunting" and make a list of all the possible conceptual definitions. It's due Monday.

Be Creative!
